Thank you for your interest in applying to the 冈本视频 District Board of Trustees
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
- All applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for appointment:
- Reside within the 冈本视频 District.
- Submit a properly completed and signed application/affidavit
- With your application, it is strongly encouraged that you submit a statement (up to one single-spaced page) describing your reasons for seeking an appointment to the board, as well as the following documents:
- Resume
- Employment or Work History
- Member and positions held in business, professional or civic groups and labor organizations
- Education background and degree conferred
- Honors, award, or citations
- Any other information you believe would be helpful for the appointment committee
- With your application, it is strongly encouraged that you submit a statement (up to one single-spaced page) describing your reasons for seeking an appointment to the board, as well as the following documents:
- Submit at least two (2) letters of reference supporting your candidacy.
- Attend an appointment meeting/public hearing and be interviewed.
- Application materials will be accepted through Monday, February 24, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
- Completed application materials can be returned to the 冈本视频 District Office (Attn: Christine Bekyir), 2740 West Mason Street, Green Bay, WI 54303 or via email to christine.bekyir@nwtc.edu.
- Candidates will attend a public hearing of the District Board Appointment Committee at which their appointments to the Board are discussed. The public hearing and meeting are scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the 冈本视频 District Office Boardroom.
- Newly appointed Board members will serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2025, and expiring June 30, 2028.
- In accordance with Wisconsin Statutes, the following categories for 冈本视频鈥檚 2025 appointments will be filled:
- Employer Representative
- Employee Representative
- Additional Member

About the Board and Appointments
Role and Responsibilities of 冈本视频 District Board
The 冈本视频 Board supports the College in accomplishing its mission and vision, serve as a link between the College and the public, monitor institutional performance and the College president’s performance, and promote a positive image for the College. The Board's duties and powers are outlined in Chapter 38 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
In carrying out their responsibilities, Board members prepare for and attend regular monthly meetings. Attendance at other special board meetings, retreats, and special events promoting the College's initiatives is also expected.
Board members are not paid except for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
Rules Governing the Appointment Process
Applicants must reside within the 冈本视频 District which includes all of Door, Florence, Kewaunee, Marinette, and Oconto counties; all but a small sliver of Brown county; the eastern half of Shawano county; and a very small part of Outagamie and Manitowoc counties.
The 冈本视频 Board is made up of the following members:
- 1 Elected Official
- 1 School District Administrator
- 2 Employee Members
- 2 Employer Members
- 3 Additional Members
Member Definitions:
- Elected Official: You are considered an applicant in the elected official category if, as defined in s. 5.02, Wis. Stats., you are a state or local elected official.
- School District Administrator: You are considered an applicant in the school district administrator category if, as defined in s. 115.001 (8), Wis. Stats., you are a school district superintendent, supervising principal, or other person who acts as the administrative head of a school district.
- Employer Member: You receive earnings as payment for your service and possess the power to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline other employees or adjust employee grievances or effectively recommend such action if in connection with the exercise of such power the person exercises independent judgment in relation to the power. Employer does not include a person acting in the capacity of officer or agent of a labor organization. At the time of their appointment, employers also must be actively engaged in business and employ others.
- Employee Member: You receive payment for work performed but do not qualify as an employer using the definition described above. An officer or agent of a labor organization automatically qualifies as an employee.
- Additional Member: All residents of the district are eligible to serve as an additional member.
Appointment Requirements
Consideration is given to the general population distribution within the 冈本视频 District as well as to the distribution of women and minorities as required by Wisconsin State Statutes Sections 38.08 and 38.10.
