The Board of Trustees of 冈本视频 has approved the college’s proposed budget after the public hearing on Wednesday, May 12.
In the budget for the fiscal year 2021-2022, components included:
- The operating budget will be $124.7 million, an increase from $118.8 million in the current year.
- The total levy will be $35.8 million, a 2.53% increase from the current year that was $34.9 million.
- Property owners will pay about $81 on a $100,000 home compared to about $82 last year.
The College plans to invest in revenue generating initiatives that increase new student enrollment, persistence, and completion. Examples of these initiatives supported by the fiscal year budget include:
Implement new programs and offer short-term certificates based on labor market needs.
Accelerate use of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and other innovative technologies.
Expand dual credit academy programs to increase pipeline for high school students.
“In many respects, this proposal is a pandemic recovery budget. Not only will the College be in recovery mode, but so will the district’s prospective and current students, businesses, and communities,” said Dr. Jeff Rafn, 冈本视频 president.
冈本视频’s approach for the 2022 fiscal year will focus on transitioning to a post-pandemic environment that incorporates the best of new practices and re-energizes pre-pandemic practices that increase student success. The College will measure student success by reducing racial equity gap enrollment in high wage programs, course success, and graduation rate.
“This year’s budget also reflects the College’s self-examination and action to eliminate explicit and implicit racial injustices, ensuring equitable outcomes for our students. In addition, we are making intentional efforts to create a personalized academic, financial, and career pathway for our all students,” said Rafn.
冈本视频 is one of the most efficient technical colleges in Wisconsin. It is the third largest of Wisconsin’s Technical Colleges, yet it has the fourth-lowest operational cost per student and the fourth-lowest operating mill rate in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
