Radiography - Associate Degree

Radiography is an exciting and challenging field involving the use of highly sophisticated equipment to create radiographs- the anatomical images that are used by physicians to diagnose disease. Radiographers have direct patient contact in clinic and hospital settings and are valuable members of the primary health care team. A graduate of the Radiography program can choose a career in a variety of health care settings including clinics, hospitals, and private practice physician offices. Graduates of the program are qualified to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification Examination. Career advancement opportunities exist in additional imaging modalities, education, and administration as education/application specialists, sales representatives, and technical advisors.

Students following the study plan below will complete the Radiography associate degree in the number of semesters shown.

Total Credits 70
  • Curriculum Note: Students must earn a "C" or higher in all 10-526-XXX courses. A student who withdraws or receives a grade lower than a "C" in a program course may apply for re-entry into the program. Consideration for re-entry will be at the discretion of the re-entry team and will be dependent on clinical availability.
  • Students must earn a "B" or higher in General Anatomy & Physiology. A student who withdraws or receives a grade lower than a "B" in this course may apply for re-entry into the program. Consideration for re-entry will be at the discretion of the re-entry team and will be dependent on clinical availability.
  • The credit for 10-890-101, College 101 is an Institutional Requirement for graduation. Consequently, it is not part of the program credit requirements, but must be passed with a "C" or better.
  • 10-526-192 Radiography Clinical 2 will change to 2 credits beginning Spring 2023
  • 10-526-193 Radiography Clinical 3 will change to 4 credits beginning Summer 2023
  • 10-526-199 Radiography Clinical 4 will change to 4 credits beginning Fall 2023

  • PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT (8/15) Consistent with the vision and mission statements of 冈本视频, the Radiography Program will be a leader in diagnostic imaging workforce development by providing an educational experience that prepares graduates with the skills and proficiencies required of a successful entry-level Radiologic Technologist. Using competency based evaluations, the program emphasis revolves around the student developing a strong work ethic, attainment of entry level technical skills and critical thinking abilities. A variety of clinical education settings with comprehensive patient care experiences will provide students with a well-rounded education in the imaging sciences.

Industry Credentials

Graduates apply to take the American Registry in Radiography Technologist (ARRT) Certification examination and upon passing, are credentialed in radiography RT (R) which also makes them eligible for full Wisconsin state license.

Clinical Experience

  • Students will be required to purchase a uniform, radiographic markers, provide their own transportation to assigned sites, and cover any other expenses related to clinical experiences. Students may be expected to travel distances, participate in p.m. clinicals, or weekend rotations.
  • Students will be required to submit immunization documentation. A fee is charged for this service. Additional information will be provided upon acceptance into the program.
  • Students will be required to show proof of an annual flu vaccine.

Wisconsin Caregiver Law

冈本视频 is required to comply with the Wisconsin Caregiver Law (1997 WISCONSIN ACT 27). The completion of a caregiver background check includes the review of criminal records for convictions of serious crimes or a history of improper behavior. Students accepted into this program must complete a background check through www.viewpointscreening.com/nwtc AND complete a Background Information Disclosure (BID) form disclosing any acts, crimes, or convictions prior to program entry and/or clinical, practicum, field experience. The information provided in the BID form must be truthful and match any findings on the criminal record check. Information regarding this process is provided to students immediately upon acceptance into the program. Please review your entry/admission checklist. Students with a criminal history may be denied access to placement at the discretion of the clinical, practicum, or field experience site. Consequently, should a student have a history of convictions of serious crimes or a history of improper behaviors, 冈本视频 cannot guarantee clinical/practicum/field experience placement or guarantee graduation.
