Metal Fabrication - Technical Diploma

The Metal Fabrication program provides hands-on experience to prepare you to build metal projects using all types of fabrication equipment. You will take fabrication projects from blueprint through final inspection, including the use and troubleshooting of manual and CNC cutting and forming equipment, and both Gas Metal Arc and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. The Metal Fabrication program will prepare you for the future by providing you with knowledge in Metallurgy, Robotics, Quality Assurance and Lean Manufacturing.

Employment Potential

A graduate of the program will have the potential for employment as a Welder/Fabricator, Pipe Welder, CNC Fabrication Equipment Operator, Robotic Welding Operator, and Welder. In these jobs, the graduate will build and repair metal components using basic knowledge of blueprints, metallurgy, and layout while applying the major welding processes used by industry. Other positions might include Construction Trades Welder, Ironworker Trades Welder, Millwright, Sheetmetal Trades Welder, and Pipe Trades Welder. People in many apprenticeship programs are required to take welding and fabrication classes as part of their training.

  • Students are responsible for purchasing their own Personal Protective Equipment. Details will be provided at orientation. Students are eligible for discounts.

Classes wherever you have an internet connection.
