Graduates of the Digital Media Technology degree have the skill set for a variety of careers including audio/video production assistant, digital media specialist, freelance media producer, radio and podcast producer and motion graphic designer.

Media examples in audio, video, history of radio/tv broadcasting, concepts of videography, live video streaming, pre-production, scriptwriting and motion graphics.
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringTechnical aspects of capturing motion images including composition, lighting, exposure, filtration, and camera selection. Develop skills in pre-production through post-production of motion photography projects.
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringStudents gain skills that lead to success in college, employment, and life. Students should take this course in their first semester. (Pre-requisite: None.)
Course Typically Offered: Summer Fall SpringResearch and development of writing for broadcast (traditional and web) and pre-produced media. Script based production planning including budgeting, scheduling, storyboarding and logistics planning. Legal matters including copyright, talent and location releases.
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringConcept of analog to digital audio conversion; audio production with software including editing, processing, mixing and exporting. Creating radio imaging and advertising; producing various length content for distribution through multiple mediums.

The study of self, conflict, and cultural contexts will be explored, as well as their impact on communication. Course Typically Offered: Summer Fall SpringOff-camera audio acquisition and processing for video production. Interior and exterior audio recording concepts and techniques. Audio recording for video equipment including microphones, field recorders, and wireless lavaliere systems.
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringIntroduction to studio and individual live video production and broadcast. Live switching and workflow basics including camera, monitoring, and playback techniques. Examine media specifications, delivery options and crew responsibilities.
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringFundamentals of video production and editing including project and media management, organization and workflow. Emphasis on hands-on production and post production experience using current technologies in digital video. (Prerequisite 10-203-126 Photography-Video Intro for photography students)
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringPlan, prepare and organize podcasts for online distribution and access. Pre- through post-production techniques including technical and commercial aspects of podcasting. Emphasis on interviewing, scriptwriting, audio editing and development of commercials for revenue.(Pre-requisite 10-206-100 Digital Audio).
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringAll college students, regardless of their college major, need to be able to make reasonable decisions about fiscal, environmental, and health issues that require quantitative reasoning skills. An activity based approach is used to explore numerical relationships, graphs, proportional relationships, algebraic reasoning, and problem solving using linear, exponential and other mathematical models. Students will develop conceptual and procedural tools that support the use of key mathematical concepts in a variety of contexts. This course may be used as the first of a two part sequence that ends with Quantitative Reasoning as the capstone general education math requirement. Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringIntermediate-level digital video production and post production including advanced editing techniques, color correction and output. Emphasis on group-based video segments utilizing current cameras and editing software culminating in a final presentation. Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringLearners develop knowledge/skills in planning, organizing, writing, editing. Students will also analyze audience/purpose, use elements of research, format documents using standard guidelines, and develop critical reading skills. Course Typically Offered: Summer Fall SpringSetup and operation of location based live switching video production. Location workflow coordination of multiple camera and audio streams, teleprompter, media, crew, and floor management. Emphasis on group-based live video events utilizing multi-camera production.
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringPhotoshop is the essential tool for digital image manipulation in graphic design, web design, and photography. Students develop technical skills in solving visual design and production problems. Instruction covers Photoshop’s vast array of tools, filters, and procedures including workspace basics, image resizing, output preparation, layer management, selection strategies, editing and adjustment basics, composites, filters, and effects. A portfolio of digitally generated and manipulated images is completed to demonstrate course competencies and learning objectives have been met.

Business fundamentals, target marketing, copy writing, commercial distribution, user-generated content (UGC) service/s. Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringThis course introduces the study of diversity from a local to a global perspective using a holistic, interdisciplinary approach that encourages exploration and prepares students to work in a diverse environment. The course introduces basic diversity concepts, examines the impact of bias and power differentials among groups, explores the use of culturally responsive communication strategies, and compares forces that shape diversity in an international context. It provides an overview of topics such as research methods, theoretical perspectives, learning, cognition, memory, motivation, emotions, personality, abnormal psychology, physiological factors, social influences, and development..
