Hazardous Material Operations

10-503-153 HAZARDOUS MATERIAL OPERATIONS ...prepares the participant to perform the minimum hazardous material incident operations associated with firefighting functions. Meets operational level competencies referenced in the JPRs in NFPA 1001, 4-1.1. (Corequisites: 10-503-142, Fire Fighting Principles; OR Firefighter I State Certification)

HDPE Fusion and Electrofusion

Demonstrate safety standards while operating tools in the water and with PPE.  Perform joining HDPE pipe with standard electrofusion using couplers and saddles. Perform joining smaller diameter HDPE pipe using manual and hydraulic butt fusion.  Explain MAB accepted standards and qualifications for water utility work.

10-530-178 HEALTHCARE LAW & ETHICS ...examines regulations for the content, use, confidentiality, disclosure, and retention of health information. An overview of the legal system and ethical issues are addressed. (Corequisite: 10-530-162 Foundations of HIM)
