- Outline the process of high voltage current production as it applies to x-ray production
- Discuss the atomic interactions resulting in x-ray production and resultant photon occurrences
- Explain the electrical processes occurring in the x-ray tube during and after x-ray production
- Predict the effect upon diagnostic image quality with various modifications to x-ray tube designs, spatial alignment and geometric orientations
- Apply methods for x-ray exposure control and beam termination
- Analyze x-ray beam characteristics with changes in exposure factors, beam filtration and collimation
- Analyze various x-ray room designs for optimum radiation safety
- Troubleshoot major x-ray system components of a typical radiographic unit for successful operation
