Course Description

10-150-200 CISCO INTRO ...introduces the architectures, models, protocols, and networking elements that connect users, devices, applications and data through the internet and across modern computer networks - including IP addressing and Ethernet fundamentals. By the end of the course, students can build simple local area networks (LANs) that integrate IP addressing schemes, foundational network security, and perform basic configurations for routers and switches.

Class Notes

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The Cisco Academy Lab, Room BT338, is open on Mondays from 1:30 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. Weekly lab time is mandatory. You can choose any time within this period to attend. The lab will be closed during all College holidays and breaks. The Cisco Academy Lab time is an excellent opportunity to practice your IT skills using authorized Cisco tools. You also have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers in shared labs and build your own individual labs. Your instructor will be available to provide assistance and support throughout the class.

  • IMPORTANT: The class consists of Lecture which is delivered in person and online live plus additional time in the Cisco Academy Lab, Room BT 338 during the posted open lab times. Plan at least 30 hours to complete the lab portion of this class.
